The province of Nova Scotia today announced that it has been granted 300 additional spaces for its Express Entry streams, known as Nova Scotia Demand Demand: Express Entry and Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry.

On Wednesday, Premier Stephen McNeil and Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab announced Nova Scotia can take 300 more people for its express entry programs, on top of the 350 spots already filled. The new spots bring the total number of nominees the province can take to 1,350, up from 700 last year.

Diab said she doesn’t know of another example of the federal government increasing a province’s quota in the middle of the year and it’s a sign that the Liberal government’s efforts to improve the program are working and Ottawa is taking notice.
